On Sunday 6th April 2014, on a grey damp day, an enthusiastic group from the Cardiff Conservation Volunteers helped to keep the Marshfield footpaths open for everyone to enjoy.
The group spent the day clearing brambles that had overgrown the footpath leading from the lane between Mallards Reach and the Shires. This should help to make the footpath more easily accessible to walkers.
The volunteers are of all ages and come from all walks of life; they help to manage the green open spaces of South Wales. Using traditional tools they are able to help keep alive the old skills of hedging, coppicing and dry-stone walling.
