Newport Council Education Dept have written to current Marshfield Primary Year 5 parents to advise that amendments have been made to the published admission numbers for Bassaleg school to reflect the outcome of capacity re-assessment exercises undertaken during the consultation period. From September 2014, the intake into Year 7 will be increased by 23 places to 270 in total each year until 2018. Presumably it will be reviewed in 2018 in line with demand at that time. This is good news for Marshfield.
